Although the official language of Taiwan is Mandarin, people will often also speak either Taiwanese (outside of Taipei) and English (inside of the cities)
It is very humid, with hot summers and temperate winters. Snow only occurs on the mountains.
There's a ton to do if you enjoy cities and nature, with mountains, city and outdoor hikes, beaches, museums, markets, and temples.
Transit is excellent - both the inner city subway systems and the country-wide high speed rails are well-signed and easy-to-use.
